I started R.Frank Photography with a very simple goal in mind. I wanted to provide memories that lasted a lifetime. I've always been passionate about photography, even from when I was a little kid walking around with my mom's polaroid camera (I remember I wasted an entire cartridge of film on pictures of trees. My mom wasn't very happy!) I attended Penn State Behrend with a BA in Communications and Media Studies. While I was there I was involved in the Behrend Beacon, a student produced newspaper, and that's where my drive to start my own company began.
Now, years later, we have grown into a full service photography company. In addition to thirty plus weddings a year, we provide commercial photography for Penn State Behrend, Lilly Broadcasting, Erie General Electric FCU, Scott Enterprises, CrossFit FBO, The Erie County Historical Society, The City of Erie (Mayor Joe Sinnott's Office), the MS Society and many more! Check out our galleries for a more in-depth view of what we do, and feel free to contact us using the contact tab in the menu!
A 2008 Graduate of Mercyhurst College, in Erie, PA, with a Degree in Graphic Design; I have been working full-time in what I love to do. Besides designing, you can catch me with a camera in my hands since joining R Frank Photography in July of 2008.
One aspect that I absolutely love is band photography. I'm currently the Brand Manager for RockErie.com a division of GoErie.com. When I'm not shooting for R.Frank Photography, you can find me at a local establishment getting photos of all the great bands Erie has to offer.
I also have my own design company Steve Push! Designs. We have many clients in the Erie area, including all of the branding for R.Frank Photography. With the combination my talents, you will often see our ads, booklets, covers and albums.
The best feeling in the world is when you capture that perfect moment in a photograph that makes you smile every time you look at it.
My personal style tends to be very honest and more along the side of photojournalism. I attended Kent State University where I earned a BS in Visual Journalism. While I was a student, I was involved in The Kent Stater, a daily student-run newspaper, and The Burr, a student-run magazine where I was also an photo editor.
I also completed two internships while in school: one at The Chautauquan Daily in Chautauqua, New York, and the other at The Columbus Dispatch in Columbus, Ohio. After I graduated, I worked at The Evening Sun, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, before I moved back to my hometown and began shooting for R Frank Photography.
I first got into photography back in 2003. I was into the Volkswagen and Audi car show scene and started to develop an eye for neat locations to photograph cars. After reaching the limits of my point and shoot camera in 2005, I decided it was time to invest in a DSLR camera, to take my passion to the next level.
Another passion of mine is product photography. I currently work at Arrowhead Wine Cellars and I'm responsible for their product shots. I remember one time sitting in my kitchen when I saw a perfect shot for the new winter line of wines right on my back deck. Braving the elements I snapped the perfect shot!
Rob Frank happened to be at an event I was photographing in 2010, and we got to talking and he really liked my work. He asked if I would be willing to come aboard. Seeing the talent and finished products that his company produced, I was happy to join!
